Kalki "Indian" fashion - Online Internationally!!

Kalki is one of my favourite stores in Bombay when it comes to weddings and traditional Indian occasions.... they have an amazing range of Indian wear in all possible styles... I had two of my outfits from Kalki in Santacruz, for my brother's wedding too... and I simply adore those outfits!

Now, Kalki not only has an online store but ships internationally! That's really awesome considering there is next to nothing here in Perth as far as Sarees and Indian wear is concerned... I have been asked a couple of times but I have never come across anything that sells Indian wear.

The have a whole wide range of Sarees, Crop top designs, Salwar-Kameez, Bridal wear, Kurtis and so much more....

Gorgeous Sarees that are the latest in trend, style and colours!

An unlimited variety of Indian dresses like Anarkali Suits, Salwar Kameez and Kurtis.

Another interesting about Kalki's Online fashion store is that you can even get custom-made garments made for yourself straight off the runway.... pick from a wide range of latest designer collections by amazing Indian designers like Ritu Kumar, Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra and get it made for you.... with the designer label's involvement!

A glimpse of the amazing choices you have online!

Visit Kalki here www.kalkifashion.com and go gaga over their range!

Curtin University runway show @ PFF

A bit late for this post but I want to do it because it deserves to be blogged about! It was surely one of the most inspiring shows for me... amazing designs by students and ex-students of Curtin University....
I always look forward to student runways and emerging designer shows because you always see so much experimentation and innovation... soon they all start getting commercialised or start to follow trends... which is definitely not a bad thing, you got to sell what sells after all...
Having said that my favourite pieces are always the ones that manage to find a fine balance between experimentation and commercial viability...
Here are some of the looks that I really liked... there were so many but couldn't post all here...

Tops as bottoms!

Tie and dye was never so elegant and chic in my head! Love this!

Interesting textile

Loved this knit wear collection for it's texture, colours, silhouettes and styling!

leather, sheer, rose with a dash of bling! wonderful combination!

 Knit wear with a twist!

Stone-wash?? The fabric is interesting and I would love to get a closer look

Casual, relaxed, comfy, nude, cool and so stylish

Techniques and details that are feasible without making a garment looking too out there!

Love this look... and love how it looks inspired from "dhoti & mojri" yet has it's own standing

Lovely detailing and surface-ornamentation... would love to get a closer look!

Sneak Peek of Sew Blue fashion event

Sew Blue is a fashion event that is also an initiative dedicated to raising awareness on depression and mental illnesses. It's an annual event that is in it's second year and that has managed to get itself listed as one of the cultural programs of the Perth Fashion Festival as well!

They had their fittings and trials today... and I got to get a glimpse of all the action.... How? I too am showcasing my collection with them!

It was wonderful to see so many designers under one roof, working, taking measurements, fitting their garments on to the models and so much more

I won't spoil the suspense by posting full outfits and collection... I will surely get the collections to you when I blog for them after the fashion night....
